I almost pulled the trigger on a 300 WM but got to looking and I can get a 7 PRC for the same price at Europtic.com. Looking at the B-14 Sierra Wilderness (left hand). Nice rifle and not as heavy as the HMR which I have in 6.5CM.
I believe I'm calling tomorrow and see if they have it in stock and run up and buy it. Think I'm making the right choice for a 500+ yard rifle?

Per same bullet weight the wm will give you more range. If shooting 1k or less the prc will have an edge? I try to be subjective as I'm not a 28cal fan, but I did finally get 2 28cals in the last 2 years (7-08rem & 7saum). Can't have only 1 cartridge per caliber ;) ! Now I need another 224, 243, 338 and 458cal. You could get a 7rm as there should be more ammo selection and availability over the 7prc? Wait until tomorrow as federal has a new offering in 7?

I end up taking both with! I always have a 300WM as backup (if it isn't my primary) when I think I need to try the next latest and greatest. Should have been using the 300 last year for bear as the PRC had a mount issue(my negligence🤦🏻‍♂️) that ended with no bear being killed. The mount issue WILL NOT happen again so a new 7PRC build will stretch its legs.

I recently bought the same rifle in 7PRC left hand and I'm still working up a load, but I like it. First thing I generally do with a factory rifle is put a TriggerTech trigger in them, and I did not have to do that with that rifle. Trigger is perfectly fine for hunting from the factory, at least mine was, crisp, breaks a little over two pounds. Good looking rifle, and mine is shooting fairly good, not as good as my other two Bergara's, but I'm confident groups will tighten up more as I get more rounds through it. I'm having no trouble banging steel at 500 yards, but that's as far as I can shoot at the house.

Love my 300WM shot it at 1760 yds, 3 rds 21 inch group with barely shot in reloads that I was working up when the opportunity arose now I have worked up loads and feel it will do better as long as the nut behind the barrel does his part. I am still shooting that rifle, but will soon need to get another barrel from XCALIBER I have three barrels from em and the have all been solid 3/8-1/2 shooters. Any way all I'm saying is as long as you do your part the 300WM will do you right. Just my opinion. But again we all have our needs and WANTS hahahaha

As stated above, both rifles will do about anything you need at 500 yards. 300WM will have a little more recoil than the 7PRC, if spotting shots matters.
My last two hunts were with a 7PRC and 180 Bergers. Antelope at 700 yards and deer at 440. I have a 300WM as well, but like the efficiency of the 7mm.
You cannot go wrong with either, but I personally would go for the PRC. I would also do the PRC over the 7mm Rem Mag (which I also have) for the more current casing design, especially if you are loading.
Good luck.
