I am in a conundrum. ..

Therefore, I am running 120-150 fps less than what's published for the 7 PRC. This is pretty disappointing. I am starting to believe Ramshot Magnum isn't a good match for the 7 PRC's case capacity.

Anyone else have a similar or different experience?
I have. But its numerous powders for me leading me to think i have one of them slow Proofs Ive read about. Its 22" as well and 200fps slower than some book loads.

Also have experienced certain fast book powders not liking my barrel and giving slow speeds but loving others and clipping right along, seen numerous times.

Hello everyone. First post but so much great reading.
Here is a load that is working for me on initial development.
26 inch Patriot Valley Osprey carbon
175 eldx
67.5 Ramshot Grand
COAL 3.390 2 thousandth off lands
ADG brass
CCI br2 primers
The target is 100 yards. But was consistent out to 500 with 1 inch groups at 500. I went up to just over max 70.0 grain load( no signs of pressure) and saw velocities of 3120 but the accuracy was not nearly the same as this 67.5 node which was wide. Working on n565 but had ejector marks with a light load but it was during breakin so going to retry now 100 down the pipe. Hard to argue with the accuracy on that 67.5 grain load though but still going to try things out.

Kinda hard to argue with that, nice work . I think I'll be installing a 24 or 26 inch carbon barrel next time on my 7 prc but who knows

Will, if you are looking at carbon barrels I have nothing but positive things to say about this patriot valley arms osprey. The bore scope looked really good. No chatter and very nice even machining. Also in talking with several gunsmiths the topic of slow proof barrels came up several times and multiple smiths recommended the osprey as being faster and a better option. Here's my build. On the falcor lw7 action.

I'm thinking of putting a 26 inch carbon barrel in 338 Sherman on it for elk season next year here in central Mt . The 7 prc has 800 ish through it presently
