6MM Creedmoor Dead?

Been thinking about getting a 6 something or another. Was looking more towards a 6GT rather than a 6 CM because I have a 25 CM already and the GT is a bit easier on barrels and still adequate enough for deer out to a couple hundred yards. Also the GT is starting to be standardized by SAAMI so some factory ammo should be available at some point.

I built one and put it together. Love it. I couldn't believe the velocities it produces with 108's. Way faster than 243. Best thing is they stack in right on top each other and it's a pleasant to shoot. Especially suppressed
This beast loves everything I run thru the tube. Love this Walther barrel.

I've been trying to find a 6MM Creedmoor rifle and many manufacturers aren't making them anymore due to slow sales. Is the cartridge dead or do you think things might pick up again when shortages are over?
Eastwood Outfitters here in Pinehurst N C ph# 910-420 8919 has 2020waypoint if you're int

My 13 year old daughter and I shoot a pile of precision rifle matches with the 6creed using 112 Barnes at 2850fps. I have never had feeding issues.
She won a lilja barrel and we had it chambered in 6gt for her and a 6 dasher for me.
Talk about feeding issues. I got the feeding figured out on the dasher with primal rights magazine kits but that 6gt is still getting tuned up.
I will be going back to the 6mm Creedmoor this fall when her barrel is needing a rechamber.

I think it is dying or will die out if things don't change soon. My thoughts are, a few months ago I went to go buy a 6mm for my daughter's first rifle. I was under the notion there was going to be an abundance of rifles manufacturers producing this cartridge. I found chasis guns precision rifles and everything with barrels 24" and over?? That's not marketing towards young hunters. Where's all the 20 inch Model 7's or budget rifles like a Savage Axis, Ruger American or a Browning Micro Midas. I couldn't find one. Sure there's a Barrett Fieldcraft here and there or a Springfield Waypoint but those are $2500 rifles. I wrote Ruger and they said the 6.5 Creed is their best seller so that's what they will be producing. Unless this ammo/rifle glut changes I think the 6mm Creedmoor is a goner. No fault of its own just terrible timing.

It was bad timing for the 6 creed and covid. Was just getting going and got shut down. It will be very popular soon.
I don't post often but, I built a 6 Creed with a Defiance action and it has become my favorite rifle in the safe. The recoil is nonexistent, the accuracy is better than any of the others. I've taken one Whitetail, two Muleys, and a Pronghorn with the 103gr ELD-X coupled with Lapua small primer brass. All one shot, from 190-400+ yards. I'm sold on the validity of the little cartridge.

What kind of velocity are you getting and with what load? From everything I've found published the velocities were within about 100fps of each other.

If I could push them at 3,400-3,600 like I can with the 6.5LRM I might just need to do some exploring here... .
I have a factory ruger american predator (I bought it for my 7 month old son, have to make sure it works properly lol) and with factory 108 eld-m I am getting half inch groups and an average velocity of 2940 with a 22" barrel up here in Montana. Elevation 3700 above sea level. I am sure when I reload for it I will be able to hit 3000+ fps with the heavies. I bought if for a long range coyote rig and deer/antelope rifle. It is so fun to shoot and so accurate. I will have a hard time putting my 6.5-284 down though but I might run the 6mm creed this upcoming season to see how it preforms.

Strangely enough they aren't. Remington was bought out but the firearms division was siimply renamed and is still run under the same ownership as prior to the banrkuptcy.

Vista actually owns the rest of it including their ammo manufacturing facilities.

Vista now owns the name Remington but "remington" is still making Remingtons in the same factory, same management and employees but now has to pay a licensing fee to Vista.

Crazy!
They are moving the firearms operation to Georgia. Remington was owned by Cerberus Capital Management a private equity firm. The Cerberus group is a capital equity firm that I believe was hoping they could by cheap and then flip the firm in a future sale. Their weakness was that they are bean counters and that just does not lead to a good product. Current new owners The Round Hill Group an "Investment Company" claims they will not operate the way the private equity guys did. Round Hill claims their goal is to return the brand to its roots as a quality gun manufacturer, we will see. So production will not remain in NY and it is different owners.

Had the bunch at APR rifles build me one of their Altitudes in a 6mm CM. I've always shoot 30 cal magnums for everything. Just want to say it's been a pleasure to shoot. I haven't developed any loads for it yet, but it's shooting under .75 MOA with factory 103 eld-x ammo..I've taken a nice 8 and several hogs with it this season..All one shot kills in their tracks or ran less then 50 yards. It's a great deer and hog rifle that has made some of the magnums dust collectors this past year.
