6.5x300 WSM

I am using .270WSM Norma and also have some new Winchester. Neck thickness seems like it is going to present a small issue. I haven't had good results with FC (neck splitting on second firing) even in .270WSM. R-P seems ok for the few pieces I have used.

I neck up FC 270 for 300 WSM. Just takes annealing.

BTW: the nickle plated is not a good idea.

I agree that annealing may have taken care of that issue. Just seems like it started out too hard if you can't get 2 firings when you can from others. Necking down .270WSM to 6.5 is a little different than necking it up to .300WSM.

Ran this up today with rl 26. 147 eldm at 10 off. Shots were 60-61.6 grains in .2 grain increments. Same flat spot in velocity as 143. 3075-3080.

All I could find today was RL25 and 17.
17 should be decent in my 7-08, but has anyone tried 25

Necking down .270WSM to 6.5 is a little different than necking it up to .300WSM.

Yes. That is known information.
