6.5 SS (Sherman Shortmag)

I just checked Sherman website and looked at the Hornady but don't see an option for 6.5 Sherman (SA).

No, I only have Forster right now but have Hornady ordered. Due about May

Ive had good luck with the 147 but haven't shot the 140. I did have good luck with the 140 Amax tough!

Are there any downsides to building a Sherman short mag on a long action? Currently building a 338 Sherman but contemplating my next one and thinking about one of the SS or SST which needs the mag bolt face.

Is a Savage action worth building it on? You can swap out the bolt heads easily, correct?

If I were looking at building a Short action Sherman designed cartridge on a long action, I would do the Max. It is the exact same design only a little longer with increased performance.

No, I have dies, reamers and brass for the 300 and 338..
I have reamers for the 6.5 and will have brass soon and dies a little later on.

The 6.5 Max should run the 156 Berger North of 3200' and the 300 should push a 200 grainer ai 3150'

Yes because you build it on a longer action
