6.5-RPM vs 6.5-270 & Improved

With excellent Peterson 280 ai brass available and an easy neck down with off the shelf bushing dies, I'd go 6.5-280ai for sure

I guess, if you're going to spend big bucks on brass then you might as well go RPM.

RPM brass is almost twice the price and half the quality of Peterson 280 ai

Killed a lot of stuff with a 6.5-06. The 6.5-270 is better since trim to length would not be needed. I used a 140 Berger VLD for everything. Don't shoot as much anymore and rebarreled to a 6.5-284 using Lapua brass. Any of these cases seem to work fine. Best of luck.

This! That is why I respond as such is #9. Depending on your source or actual measurement, the H2O capacity is:

6.5 RPM H2O = 82.5g
.280 AI H2O = 70.5g (https://www.longrangehunting.com/threads/280ai-peterson-vs-nosler-weight-h20-capacity.296702/)

In short, the 6.5 RPM has the highest case capacity in a standard 0.473-inch-diameter (.30-06 size) bolt face.
