6.5 prc or 6.5 284

I am having a custom 6.5 PRC built...Bartlein Heavy Palma barrel 29", with 7.5 twist on a 700 short action, with magnum bolt face. It will be mounted in the MDT LSS-XL Gen2 Chassis System. I will reloading with the ELD 147 and 153 Atip.

I have the same chassis laying around, I'm wondering how well this works with the internal mag length of like 2.8x.

Is this done yet? I want a light rifle, maybe 24" bbl.

I keep reading no way with the longer bullets.

If building, I assume you intend to reload, so the factory ammo argument shouldn't hold a whole lot of weight... With that said, both are so similar, it really comes down to preference. If you really care about cramming into SA... PRC. If you like top end brass, 6.5-284. If you like the 'classics' or to stay out of the hot trends, 6.5-284... I'm personally a 6.5-284 fan, but honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either.... go with your gut, and don't look back!

Get both. No worries. Best of Both Worlds. I've got everything in hand with exception of my PRC actIon. Defiance. Stock came in the other day. I've had a 6.5-284 for some time and love it.
