400 yd max - Any of them except eldm; 600yds - none of em. There are a lot better calibers and rounds for elk than any 6.5 and I love my .264 win mags

I really just wondered why he wouldn't choose a controlled expansion and penetrating bullet on elk at the listed max range.
His take on the subject may be totally different than anyone else's, written previously or not. Possibly?
Trying to learn something! And here you come like a crouched tiger for the paper shell high BC bullets to hit a couch cushion size target at 600 or less.
I was actually hoping he'd been told to stay off the shoulder, hope for perfect broadside, and try to slip it 'tween ribs to get both lungs.
I'm clowning obviously but really I was just giving him more ammo to clickbait us with. It worked.

Voted on the 156. Although I am actually using the 153.5. We took three elk with it in the last year. They have done really well. From 350-979. Can't complain for my wife and daughter.
