6.5 prc and 123 absolute hammers

N165 is close too RL 23 and 63.5 grs of N165 gets me 3452 fps and the load I settled on is 62.5 grs at 3406 fps . N560 will be my final load development with the 123 gr absolute I'm expecting 3500 fps plus I will post it soon . I would also try standard large rifle primers instead of mag primers. I also finished load development on the 109 gr absolute with N560 with cci200 s 65 grs got me 3728 fps . I settled on a 64 gr load at 3649 fps . Hope this helps
Did you ever shoot any animals with the 109gr load? Interested in trying something similar but curious about terminal velocity. Thanks

At 56 grs of RL23 you should still have room in the case too increase the powder charge for the absolute you said 121 gr the absolute should be 123 gr. When you go from the 124 gr too the 123 gr absolute with the same powder charge of the same powder , you will have less vel because of less bearing surface . Until you run out of powder space or hit pressure , that is the reason too go too the next fastest burn rate of chosen powder .Example I hit pressure at 59 grs of N165 with the 124 gr at 3300 fps and get 3452 with 63.5 grs of N165 and out of powder space with a little room too go on pressure , now I will move too N560.
👍 Thanks brother.

The trick with the prc is to NOT run magnum primers. When we went from magnum primers to standard lr we went from 3200ish to nearly 3500 fps. We were able to gain 4-5g of powder before hitting pressure again.

Running Bertram brass with rl26 or n560 and the 124g hitting about 3470 fps. col of 2.887".
That's a awesome combination right there !!

It works I pressured out on the 109 at 3592 fps with magnum primers and N560 went too standard LR primers and went too 3728 fps not pressured out just out of powder space , with Steve's recommendation.
That's frigging awesome speed and would give a 257 wby a run for its money . I have a buddy getting 3800 and change with a 100 ttsx in 257 wby but I'm sure the 109 gr would have a BC advantage on the 25 cal bullets.
