6.5 Creedmoore

I run 140gr bullets H4350, Superformance, and 4831SC the 4831SC was actually the most accurate powder for me if I was shooting inside 600yds it would be my accuracy load it simply lacked the speed I was looking for to shoot 1000-1200yds.

I'm not having great success with H4350. What is your load data for 4831? Superformance? According to Hodgdon the two produce similar velocities.

45.0 grains of Superformance with 143 ELD-X and other 140's shoot good out of three 6.5 Creeds I have. A Tikka. A TC Encore 28 in. Hunter barrel are two. Hybrid 100 powder good also and about same velocity . I haven't had much luck with H4350 and IMR4350. Have RL17 and others to try.

I use 42.6 gr of H4350 with 140 ELD-M, BR4 primers and Lapua brass. Ruger Precision Rifle. I can consistently keep my SD around 4.5 - 5.5 (as low as 3.1 measured last year) and my muzzle speed measured with a MagnetoSpeed V3 averages around 2800FPS. My overall case length is at max of 2.825 inches.

7.215 inch group at 1,000 yds, score=49

5 shot group at 100 yds, the SD is 3.1 not 31

Nice group at 42.4 but the SD was double digits.

I have settled on the exact recipe (with 42.4 of H4350) Excellent results so far in my tikka superlite.

I had really good luck with the 140 gr. Barnes Match Burner #30230 and H4350. It seemed to be really forgiving across a broad range of charges but seemed happiest between 39.5 and 41.0 in my Savage.

I've shot a lot of Barnes bullets for many years but never the match burners. Just TSX TTSX. MRX. LRX in 24. 6.5. 7mm 30 cal. and 45 cal.
The match burners a decent priced.

it seems like h4350, varget and RL16 are the most often used powders-- RL26 would be great if it could be found . seems most are shooting the 130-140 class bullets

I'm thinking of trying some 110 HH bullets, I checked with steve and he said they had luck with varget--anyone else load the light 110 HH bullets yet?
I know this is an older thread....I did load some 110HH with Varget. Started @ 37.5gr working up to 39gr
loading in .5gr increments
I got a 3/8" 3 shot group 100yds with 39.0gr
The biggest group was 3/4"
This was the first reloading I've done with this rifle/caliber
I would have kept moving up but only had 15 bullets.
Book says max load is 41.0gr
Can you really go up to 45gr ???
Seems like a big stretch

Sc

I settled in at 41.9gr of Varget with the 110 Hammers in Lapua brass. I believe I could only get about 42.7 in yhe case, but showed some pressure.

Got my notes out, I got pressure at 42.5 with Varget and 110 Hammers. Targets were all shot from 100 yards, Magnetospeed was used for velocities.
