6.5 Creedmoor Small Primer for Hunting

I use CCI 41's with extruded powders in my 6.5 CM, Federal brass, 1X fired, cheap.
For ball powders I use the Rem 7 1/2 primer. A good load is 123 H ELDM with 44.5 Staball 6.5

More info:

Look at table 1 and see how the Rem 7 1/2 compares with other small rifle primers - primer blast waves measured in k Pascals. Blast waves from Rem 7 1/2's are much higher than other SRP's & approach that of LRP's. CCI 41's gave erratic results when used with max charges of RS Hunter.

I have been running cci400 in 6.5cm for several years now in N. Idaho with no issues ever.
I was concerned as well In the beginning and even through a few in the freezer for a couple days to test and had zero problems.
Load is with RL 16 under a barns 127 LRX OR a H 143 ELDX. AND LAPUA brass

The only issue I have had with small rifle primers has not been ignition but with cup thickness. CCi 450's, CCI 41's or Rem 71/2 seem fine. Others have cratered and on occasion "blanked" the primer with 55k + loads. Bushing firing pin eliminated this issue. Rem 700 action and one M70. (6mmBR) Having said that, I do not live in the artic but I due insure the bolts on my hunting guns are clean and dry before each season.
