I think the whole 6.5 craze isn't so much misinformation as it is misguided by forums (like this one) and advertising. I have a 6.5 creedmoor and I like it for what it is. It's not the holy grail of cartridges. It is a great for target, deer/antelope, elk inside of 300 to 400 yards depending on your skills. It's not .270, it is .264, it's not the be all end all and you can't buy 1 rifle chambered in this and expect it to do all. Accept it for what it is. For me it fills the gap between .243 and .300 WM, but I also have .30-06, and a wildcat .35.
Personally, I'm getting pretty tired of the hate and the love for the 6.5 creedmoor, when you don't see this polarization for the .260 Remington or the 6.5x47 lapua, when it reality they are so similar, that it would be impossible for game or target to tell the difference.
