I think I found my favorite bullet combination for this rifle!
Watch it literally blow a chunk of lung material out of this boar.
Hornday ELD-X I would use on any medium to large game animal.
Hornday SST I would use on any small game and most medium game (excluding 250 pound hogs).
This bullet I would use on anything from small to large game animals.

Nice, I've been following your progress with the different bullets. So, to date it looks like the Barnes Bullets is the best, the velocity is impressive. You mentioned the bullets were accurate, what kind of groups are you getting?

3 shot group just under a .25" using thermal equipment during the day at 100 yards. (not the most precise way to check a load).

I would take that kind of accuracy anytime. Well I"m going to give em a try thanks for your videos and info.

From an AR platform? Impressive indeed! I've been a proponent of Barnes for a number of years now, after killing boar and deer with them in Calif. where they are mandated in the condor zone, soon to be whole state. Very accurate. 120 7mms go out of my 7RM at 3400 fps. 130s from my 270 at a modest but accurate 2840. 85gr from 243 at 3200. As most of us who use them have found they are most accurate at top velocities.

Excellent shot. Good to see your videos here at LRH as well as the 6.5 Creedmoor forums.

Gotta say it seems that 6.5 bullets have a fairly wide range of weights and styles. You just have to go with the weights your rifle(s) like. Soon I'll be testing the 6.5 Creedmoor 147 gr. Hornady ELD-M rounds in my Ruger Precision Rifle and in my Ruger American Predator hunting rifle. Gotta be good for windy days even if it does open up my groups by 1/2".

Zen, congrats on your new discovery but the ELD-x1 is really popular/preferred for hunting hogs. Where are you hunting ?
