This is good to hear on the performance of the 156s on goats in particular. I have a Wyoming trip planned in 23 and will taking my 264 WMI.
It seems to like the 156 @ 3350fps.

You won't get a lesser result from any of the good solid coppers. a bullet through the liver is simply fatal every time.Great post and why I prefer Bergers vs solid copper bullets.
Impressive. What cartridge?Whitetail 2 days ago. 1 and done at 387 yds. View attachment 398623View attachment 398624
That's the exit. Don't think he took a step. In all fairness any good bullet should of gotten it done.

Thanks.6.5 SS with RL 26. 2990 fps. I think I'm 8 shots and 8 dead animals with this rifle/bullet combo so far. What's been impressive to me is the number of DRT's with it. Works very well for me so I'll keep on using it.

That's got to be fun. My 6.4LRM runs the 140's at 3,400 and hits like a Mack Truck on everything.Thanks.
I am working on a SAUM that should be close or a bit higher with velocity. It is throated for the same bullet.
I also have a 264 WMI that runs them at 3350 so interested to see how they will do at that velocity.
Thanks.

Hopefully I will know next month.I'd like to know how they do at that velocity at closer distance. A few years ago I had a nice muley jump up right @ 100yds. I popped him twice right behind the shoulder with a 6.5mm 160grain Matrix... neither exited or showed that he'd even been hit. Kinda scared me a little.
Now that Matrix is unavailable, I intend to switch to the 156 in my 6.5wsm.
