Yes Sir the auto loader in hand wins everytime and puts many more bullets on target. My M29 and 460 VCR both are beasts to control in a fast manner. I get 1-2 bullets on paper on a target moving fast in my direction. 1 maybe in the bull. I can put 6-8 from my G20 on paper and most in the bull. Bull being 8" circle. This is a 25 mph target coming from 25 yards. We've shot them at 40mph but that's just crazy fast from that range.
That's probably a good bullet for the guy that rolls his own. Probably could get 1000 fps from it if done properly and safely
The 460 (if that's what that is) providing I can put it where it's needed.
Actually a 500SW. I still would not seek out a confrontation with a charging brown, but one well place 500 grain at 1500 fps will put them in the dirt.
Right on. My 460 isn't user friendly for fast acquisitioning targets. At least not for me. Best I can do it with a 357 magnum and it's still more pushy than my 10s
Penetrate yes. Incapacitate quickly, no. No temporary cavity disruption.
I wouldn't agree with the 200XTP working on that kind of scenario. The 9mm's that have anchored bears have had hardcasts or FMJ bullets (non-expanding. I tested the XTPs on several heavy bones flesh combined with lots of expansion. Wouldn't be one I'd use to shoot a big bear in the skull to penetrate thru to brain or even deeper vitals. Not being pushed by a 45 acp. Maybe a 44 magnum tho.

I was going to carry my S&W 460 but is heavy as heck. 5 shots. Maybe get one maybe two shots off. At least you could hit it in the head with it. Same thing with my Ruger Super Redhawk 454. Thought about Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 mag. Light. But not thrilled about single action. Thought maybe my Glock 21 45 auto with hard cast. 14 rds. Maybe. I bought a Glock 20 10mm and Springfield XDM 10mm. Didn't like grip safety on XDM , why I never considered my Colt 45 auto with a 10 rd. mag. I shot same load on paper at 15 and 25 yds. 16 rds. The Glock 20 10mm had half the size group. Done deal. I put a 3.5 trigger bar in it like I do in all my Glocks. Lowered to 5 pds. My Glock 21 lowered to 3.5 lbs. All I carry now is my Glock 20 with one in pipe and 15 rd. mag in a Gunfighter chest holster. I carry bear spray also on hip. I don't want the confusion of which to use first though and have always wondered. If I have time I'm pulling both. If no time I'm pulling pistol. My Chesapeake gives my more warning than my deaf ears.
