400 Yard Bear Hammer Bullet Recovered

They shed their petals (which become additional missles cutting and doing damage) down to 1800 fps by design. They transform to a blunt ended wad-cutter shape to penetrate straight and deep. In this process they create a very large wound channel and typically exit.
Works for me, and has many times!

..and that's the good thing. 🤠 Doing what they are designed to do.
Frank if you are really interested in how the Hammer bullet is designed , go too you tube and watch RonSpomer and Steve Davis of Hammer bullets explain why Hammer bullets hit so hard . Steve goes through great detail how wounding takes place contrary too what we all grew up too believe , when explaining the terminal effect of a bullet impacting a animal . it's very interesting , good info. On how Hammer bullets are designed and differ from other bullets cup and core and other monos .

I think I'll just stick with what's left of my original Barnes X-bullets that I DANZACed 35 years ago, bought 500 decades ago, and the coating stopped the copper issues and those old times have never failed...

I've got a bunch of those too , original Barnes , blue coated Barnes , ttx Barnes etc . I got tired of copper fouling and all of the aggressive copper solvents . I went back too Nosler , then discovered Hammers . I've been handloading for over 50 years and hands down the Hammer bullets are the easiest and most accurate and the highest vel bullet compared too like bullets I've ever loaded . There is virtually no fouling and are easy too get all of the velocity potential out of . So far it seems you can find a accuracy node on the low end and also on the high end . If it takes over 10 - 20 bullets too find a decent load , something else is wrong.
