I am thinking about thinning the heard a little and going to a four gun battery. Kinda thinking I could cover the whole spectrum with the right four guns. Here are my thoughts, but was wondering what others would choose.

223 plinking
243 coyotes and such
280AI most everything from speed goats to elk
35 whelen elk, moose, and bear

lets here your thoughts on this and what changes you would make. Thanks

Is the 223 a AR15? If not, I would be sure to have an AR15 or something like that if I was going to thin out my collection and thousands of cartridges to go with it. Just my opinion. Other than that the other calibers seem sound for what you want to do.

4 Guns are not nearly enough.:D

A good bolt .223 such as my Tikka T3 "Scout" would cover sage rats, and coyotes. How the rifle in the middle of the pack is configured matters more to me than caliber. A general use a lighter weight general .30-06, and a heavier LRH/Tactical style. A .375 H&H just to keep the dream of a Brown Bear alive. The rimfires and personal defends would be handguns, because I decided they don't count LOL.

6.5X47- practice and deer size game
280 or 30-06AI- deer to elk
300WM- long throat to push 215's to 3000 fps. Most versatile of all these in my opinion.
338 EDGE to stretch out well beyond 1000 yds
