Hi
I plan to rebuild my old Swedish Husqvarna 1640 now in cal 3006.
A Hogue stock and a Bold Optima trigger is bought, the next thing I plan to do is to rebarrel it to .338 Win Mag with a Lothar Walther barrel, 26" 1-10.

I will use the rifle for elk and wild hogs more or less.
Regarding the caliber, which I know is not a real long range cal, how far should I be able to reach out with it when hunting elk, hogs, roedeer?

Once you get your rifle and start to practice at longer ranges you will then learn what your max range is with your combonation..What I mean is the distance that you can consistently hit will be your max effective range............. Good luck and enjoy..........

Hi

With my .308 Win I shoot at 600m now (We have no longer range here). What I would like to know was how far a 338 WM usually is accurate.

With the right bullet and an accurate rifle 600 Meters is a piece of cake.......
