Anyone running an XM action with defiance BDL? I'm not getting enough case head presentation and can't get mine to feed from box…at all. Also not enough heel pressure. No one makes a center feed, and it's not cut for DBM nor do I want 10 round mags so in a bit of a pickle trying to get this BDL working.

I've shifted spring and follower around…no dice. Smiths suggestion was to tweak those, look for alternate follower, or centerfeed. Tweaking did nothing, centerfeed isn't an option and I'm waiting on a call from defiance on their thoughts and if a different follower is available. Figured I'd throw this out in the mean time for any thoughts.

I use a Kwik Klip magazine, its center feed. Rich told me to trim the feed loops so the case would sit with the right attitude. Took a little trimming and works smoothly.
I was going to add the link to their page, as you have to order from them now. Cabela's doesn't carry the Kwik Klip anymore... the page won't load. I hope that doesn't mean they're gone. Its trexler industries if you wanna give it a try

So are you running the XM BDL bottom metal kit from Defiance? You said smith suggested to tweak follower and spring location, didn't the smith make sure the rifle fed properly before sending it out.

Hawkins is coming out with a new bottom metal and magazine setup for the medium length actions. It's going to be just like their flush hunter set that they already have out for the short and long actions. It's made to fit a M5 inlet so that might be an issue depending on what your stock is cut for.

Another option would to be just shorten a center feed Wyatts box to fit your medium length action. It wouldn't be too difficult to cut a section out and tig weld it back together.

Yes, defiance XM with their BDL. I'm with ya, pretty Shocked this thing left the shop, there was a dummy round that could have shown this.

This would likely work with a spacer. I may try it too. Cant be hard to alter and would let me use a BDL floor plate, which I prefer.

Where is everyone seeing accuracy? I can get up to 2900fps with 250's getting into pressure signs but accuracy seems to be in the 2600 range from what I've seen.

You must not have a defiance, Hawkins isn't making hunter bottom metal for the defiance XM. The smith that built mine ended up grinding the feed ramp a little which seems to have helped but I haven't run enough rounds from the box to feel 100%, so much single feeding during load development.

Where is everyone seeing accuracy? I can get up to 2900fps with 250's getting into pressure signs but accuracy seems to be in the 2600 range from what I've seen.

I'm getting accuracy at about 2920 with 225 BDII's, and about 2850 with 250 bergers.
