338 Edge Chamber Specs

this is what she sent me. its been 4 or 5 years since I bought the reamer and the only thong that seems a bit different on the print is my neck measures .370 and the print says .369 but the freebore looks right, when I ordered the reamer Dave set it up for the 300 otm or 285 amax and single feeding
There it is... Right at 0.050" each!... Thank You!
So what is your OAL on that jewel TwoMore?

to be honest it could still use a tad more so I dont have to seat the bullet to the shoulder junction,I wouldnt mind another .040 I went .260 on my 7mm Ultra Rouge for the 195s and that put me right before the junction

The 300 gr OTM shouldn't be at the shoulder/neck junction with that reamer. It is .547" from the junction to the front of the freebore. Then you need to add the distance it takes a 1.5° angle to decrease .0005" in diameter, that is about .019". Then you have break in wear. The Berger spec sheet shows that bullet to have a bearing surface length of .515".

looks like I am right at .300 seat depth on a trimmed to 2.840 case, just tryin to figure out if that is the correct print

4.04 to 4.05 . on my comparator 3.110 BTO
Alright Sir! So there is a difference in the neck for those 300 grainers/long profile projectiles. I knew there had to be. That explains so much of what I have been dealing with. I've been "shackled" from day 1. Having pressure problems, accuracy issues, case life. All things that should not be happening. IMHO.
AGAIN TWOMORE....THANK YOU...

one of the things I love about mine is it is not finicky and it is easy to shoot. what kinda set up are you runnin barrel and length, and what is your load and velocity if you dont mind me askin

Don't mind at all..
I run a 30" Bartlein Straight Taper 9.5 twist, mated on very slightly modified Weatherby Vanguard Action atop a Boyds Laminated stock under a Hi-Lux Top Angle 7-30x50MOAR aided by a 20moa base. My ELR load is the Hornady 285 ELD-M pushed by 101gr of Accurate Arms MR 8700, WLMRs, at 3.848" .. 2790fps...

So you based your question on a Berger bullet but you are using Hornady? The bearing surface on that Hornady is likely twice as long as the Berger.

Edd, the question has nothing to do with my current load, it has to do with how my rifle was built compared to others. Whether or not reamers exist for 300grain/long profile bullets and what the difference is. (Compared to mine) In an effort to find a solution to bring the caliber in my gun to it's full potential, without being "shackled". I've known from the day it was built that something was off. But, no one around me shoots anything like the Edge. I've learned to load it the way it is and it is **** good. 0.36moa @ 300yds and has already done a mile. So far.... But why would I, when I know, there is something off, just leave it that way. And the current load I am using is a result from three failed attempts of using various OTM bullets. Three different brands, two weights, none grouped better than 1.01" @ 100yds. (And don't say that they need distance to stabilize, tried it. Groups just get bigger.) So in conclusion, now that I know that PT&G has a reamer/specs for 300gr/long profile bullets I'll be taking that knowledge and making my rifle live up to it's full potential.
Thank you all...

PT&G has has a few different prints, we just went thru about a half dozen to find mine :( .I did mine in feb 2013 . mine is a 30" hart straight 1-10 twist 1.250 weighs 22 pounds lol with the Razor HD on it. A trued 700 action with a ptg bolt .062 firing pin, single fed,I used an Ultimate Varment stock by Choate that i fit and bedded, It is just about worthless to shoot it at 100 yards, it will bug hole at 300 when I can shoot lol, I shoot both the berger and the amax at the same charge and seat depth, I cant get the eld's to group to well, luckily I bought plenty of amax's before they stopped. I use 91.5 h1000, jammed .005, cc250 ,most of the time rem brass. 2880 fps is where I dial my ISnipe app, brass never fails I have probably shot it 300 rounds on the same 50 pieces. my younger son loves to shoot it ,he is a small guy but it is a pussycat to shoot. we usually lay it outside a shoot house on the ground and he will get out of the house and shoot prone, he shot a big doe last year at 785 yards with it :) sadly he makes fun of me cuz i hadnt shot one that far with it yet, I missed one at 1430 by just under a minute low lol the week before he shot his. I had forgot to change my angle to target it was on -3* with a level shot

Not bad at all.. Already have one at 785 and had a shot at one at 1430, how many people can say that? How many could even take that shot? Good for you!
That's why I built mine. To be able to, to have the confidence in the shot, and know that on impact it would be able to do its intended job.
Good for you!

Could I send you a PM TwoMore?
