308 win still worth having

I thought the popcorn idea might take off.
The point of my devils advocate question is that if the creeds are so good seems like LE and the military would be all over them. As far as I know they don't use them, so the 308, and 223/556 must still be pretty good!
I get wanting to play with different stuff like the creeds and wildcats,been there done that, but in my older age, I am coming back to the simple. proven stuff and enjoying it.

Just a heads up, LE and Mil adopting a new cartridge is not as easy as liking a forum posting. There are so many miles of bureaucracy to deal with its tiring. The creedmoor is revered by many shooters in LE as well as group. Unfortunately, millions of cartridges as well as weapons stand in the way of a single cartridges adoption.
As a creedmoor shooter, I have a love for what works. With that, my latest rifle is chambered in 308. Why? Because it still works. Being a supporter for a cartridge is fine. Pooping on someone else's opinion regarding something that doesn't effect you is just silly.
I have killed many animals with both carts. One doesn't stop killing because the marketing of something newer.

ps, the 300WM is heavily used by SOF shooters.

I have a friend who hunts elk mostly with his 308 Win and 165 gr PT handloads. He's taken his personal best with it, but sets a 300 yard range limit.

Many here would say the 308 will take an Elk at 600. I have not done it. I believe those who have, and would have no problem doing it. If my confidence was high with the rig, load, and conditions.

Just because this forum has a special purpose, that does not diminish the reason for having a 308. There are also great reasons to have a 22lr, an AR15, etc.

.308's are absolutely terrible and would never consider one for any range. I will be most courteous to take them off your hands so they do not offend your tastes in cartridges. Just all around nice guy offer.
