308 for long range deer

Have you guys messed around with 208-210 grain weights in a 26" 1:12 twist at 3k+ elevation? I'm sure it's a situation of how a particular gun may perform versus another, but I'd like to see what my options are after I burn up all my 168smks. I'd like to continue playing with the 175 TMK and the 178 ELDX, since they should stabilize well enough. But I sure would like to see how a 200gr+ would do.

For years I've been shooting the 210 VLD's in my 24" 5R Milspec .308 Win with an 11.25 twist at ~500' ASL. Puts 5 in the same ragged hole at 100. The ballistics will literally blow you away, if you're used to mil standards for the .308 Win/7.62x51 NATO.

The guy who I first saw shooting the 215 in a 308 was a 12 twist but with elevation but I've seen them not quite shoot in an 11.25 twist I would suggest looking at the new Berger 200.20x bullet, I think it will be thee 308 bullet, I think it will be a little better balance of speed and BC than the 215.

I've been wanting to try those as well...
