What are some of the best performing .308 rounds? Whitetail hunting specifically. Shooting a tikka T3x Superlite .308

Shot 4 hogs with thermal on my AR10 308 Win this past weekend using Berger Classic hunter bullets 168 gr at 2500 fps. All front shoulder/lung shots. Three went down and got up and ran leaving good blood trails that eventually dissipated to nothing. One didnt go down- my guide thought Id missed it- then we heard it thrashing in the hammock and went in and found him dead. Other 3 hogs were not recovered! The one we found was shot thru shoulder and both lungs and out opposite chest. Im thinking these bullets are not performing well at this velocity. Any other thoughts?

I've killed a pile of whitetails with 150gr Sierra Pro Hunters in a 308

Sierra Game Kings work well for me. My .308 deer rifle (1-12 twist) prefers the 165 grain.

My wife's CVA Cascade loves the Norma whitetail 150 gr. First 6 shots out of the gun ever are the pictures before we sighted it in. Quarter was used for marking.
