You can run the 124H up to 3,200-3,300 fps. I got 3,300 using TAC but I just couldn't get the accuracy I was looking for. I only used Fed 215M primers. A standard LR primer may have provided better results.I used the 130 TTSX years ago in a 308 and for the life of me I can't figure out why I left it behind for bigger and better bullets.
Everything I shot with it died including big hogs.
I have some 124 gr Hammer Hunters I want to try as well.

I'd never swap from that combo if I was you. I wanted to do the same thing but couldn't find any 130's. I ended up getting some 150 maker Trex bullets (allot like Barnes). Getting 2900 in a 20" barrel with excellent accuracy. About to try it on some live targets.I might try to up the ante, but 3050 FPS with minimal recoil with lethal results has been great for us.
That'll work awesome and be totally appropriate for any non dangerous game on this continent.I'm looking to create a youth/tree stand load for my Tikka 308. Hornady SST 125 grains weren't available but I did get some 130 gn Barnes TTSX. I'm looking to load it over the minimum load of Ramshot TAC for about 2950 FPS.
Will this be a mild recoil load for a youth hunter?
