24" bbl, 230 OTM Tactical touching lands, loaded with 7828SSC, CCI 200 in a Norma case. Ave. velocity 2698 fps. OAL 3.010 and still feeds through an FN built M70 action.

Man I know this thread is crazy old but was doing some searching and was wondering what twist the barrel in the FN was?

It was the standard 10 twist barrel.

My go-to 300wsm load for deer, elk and black bear is 168gn Barnes Tipped Triple Shocks, H4350 and Federal 215Ms at 3150 fps from a 24" barrel. My effective range is about 500yds but my longest kill today is a big bull elk at 325yds. went thru both shoulders and he fell in his tracks. I have never seen an elk die quicker. wasted some meat but where I killed him I didn't want him going over a cliff.
