I developed this load in 2005 for a new Kimber Montana 300 WSM. Since the shell was new all loading data was on the Internet. I got Hornady, Speer and IMR Powder data and worked with them. Here is my first load.
CASE: Winchester
PRIMER: WW LRM
POWDER: IMR 4350 65.0 (Sixty Five) Gr.
BULLET: Sierra 180 GR.
O.A.C.L. 2.860 inches
First group .625
Shoots Sierra and Hornady 180 Gr. about the same.
Nosler Partition 180 groups run slightly larger near 1"
Rifle, 2x8 Leopold scope, Nylon sling. weight 7 1/4 lb.
Hornady Manual 7 List 66.5 (Sixty Six and a half) Gr. as Max.
1 White Tail Buck, 2 Caribou and 7X7 elk as of this post.
