3006 re chamber to 6.5 X 284 HELP

How difficult would it be to re-chamber, re-barrel a 3006 to 6.5-284?

I re-barreled my '06 to 6-284, its an almost ideal starting point IMHO. Same bolt face dia (because the 284 is rebated), you have the extra length I personally think is necessary to allow the LONG bullets to seat where they are supposed to & mine feeds flawlessly... OAL with a 107SMK is just under 3.100 somewhere (can't exactly remember).

I would have to say green light, I'm no gun-plumber by any means but a new tube should be darn near all you would need as far as serious hardware.

Same results here, re-barreled an '06 to 6.5x284 and it works / feeds great and the bonus is that it's the best shooting hunting rifle I own.
Just have a new barrel installed and you will be GTG.
