.300 Win Mag hunting scope

Owned a Bushnell 2.5-16x50 Elite 6500and had it mounted on 2 different 300Win mags.
Good optics and clarity and of course Rainguard but that things as heavy as a sewer pipe (1 lb 5 oz).
If your hunting from a stand and getting to it on a quad not a big deal but if there's a lot of carrying through the bush I'd look at other options.
You think a 21oz scope is heavy??? Man, I guess all my 32+oz scopes would be a no-go for you. Heck, I don't own a scope less than 24.4oz on any of my hunting rifles.

I use a Leupold vx-3I 4.5x14 on my 300WM and like it a lot. I've noticed at 500M, that I'd like more magnification. Future upgrades will include a VX6hd 4x24. Sort of a sweet spot in terms of performance and weight.
The higher magnification won't be used a ton. It's like 4WD, no substitute when needed. No sense handicapping the 300 when it has enough Whoop A** to kill at a 1000yds (hoping you never need to though).

Ummmm.....deja vu'?

Or did the Matrix have a glitch?

If hunting from a stand and getting it on a quad band is not great, but if there's a lot to go in the jungle, I'll look for other options.

Bro get out of here. You're not tricking anyone.

AMAZING editing skills from hunterslife72 (aka the same person as you) original post. Made some grammatical corrections and changed bush to jungle.

Go with the SWFA 5- 20 x 50 on a .300 Win mag.
I have the SWFA 5 - 15 x 42 on my 6.5 CM Ruger American Predator (Timney trigger and Boyd's Classic laminated stock) and it's OK for hunting. SWFA makes VERY rugged scopes with good glass.

But I REALLY want to sell the rifle and get a 6.5 CM SAKO Finnlight stainless with a 6 - 24 x 50 Vortex Razor AMG scope. That's my wet dream combo for western hunting.
