300 rum

I have just changed from shooting Nosler Accubond 200gr to the 210gr Accubond LR. Shooting Luthor Walther 30 inch barrel using 90.8gr of Retumbo @ 3287fps with sub half inch groups with Remington 700 SS BDL action blueprinted. Made the 2 mile club with a 7 x 35 x 56 Nightforce ATACR.

I toned down my 300's velocity with 230 Berger match target bullets. Was using a max load of RL-33. Older age caught up with me so I looked for a stable temperature load with less recoil. Now using 86 gr of H-1000 with the 8 1/2 lb rifle. The 6 x 6 elk I got the year before last expired quickly with this milder load.

Berger 230 OTM at mag length ~3.6" with 89.9 Retumbo F215 @2,980 FPS
26" tube holds .3's and is easy on brass

28" 1:10" Rock Creek "Sendero" (heavier than Rem Sendero)
215 Hyb over 90.0gr H1000 @ 3100 (just off max load of 91.0)
230 Hyb over 90.3gr Retumbo @ 3117 (max load)

I'm impressed with your bullet speed with such a high B.C. bullet. My 30" barrel should take it to around 3300fps but it is finicky on bullets over 208 gr. Took forever to dial the 210 Nosler Accubonds to under .5moa. which the 200gr. Accubonds did at 200yds.
There was a higher node but it was rough on brass when RUM brass was unobtanium, and this node was over 2 grains wide that gave ~1.5" of vertical at 650 yards and a big flat spot in velocity and I ended up right in the middle.

92 gr rl 25, rem case, 200 gr nosler accubond, Fed 215M, OAL--as long as your magazine allows; probably around 3.650 or a little longer. Work up to this load as it may be too hot for some guns and also because RL 25 can vary in burning rate from one lot to the next. Velocity is usually around 3150. If that don't turn your crank you can keep all things the same except work up to 94 or 95 gr of Retumbo instead of RL 25. Some have great luck with this powder. Great hunting bullet, great BC, and its pretty much as tough as a partition. Just be sure to work up from lower levels as each gun is different.
