300 rum loads?

CPG 300 RUM 26" Brux with side discharge brake.
Remington brass 3.060 off comparator
97.5 H1000 shows psi signs with smiley on case rim.
3407 fps. Shoots .300 groups consistently.

Same gun with 215 Berger load.
3.035 off comparator
90.0 Grains H1000 no psi
shoots .300 groups consistently
3110 to 3125 fps.

230 Berger Load
3.030 off comparator
89.7 Grains Retumbo No psi
shoots .300 groups consistently
3000 - 3015 fps.

This gun has been the easiest to load for. No matter what load I put in it seems to flat out shoot! Pretty good for a hunting rifle. I have a few other customs that dont shoot near as good as the 300 RUM.gun)
What is the comparator?

A comparator is a tool for measuring various dimensions of a rifle cartridge. Might need to brush up on handloading procedures maybe. mtmuley

The load I shoot from my 300 RUM is 99 grains of H50, 230 berger hybrid set back 83 thousands, 3004 FPS. I put some of the 230 tacticals through it, and gained 25 FPS with same load, so more pressure with this bullet, but it did impact the target same place and same group size. Shoots .75 MOA consistent.

I also forgot to mention that I recently received some 212 Hornady ELD X bullets. I loaded up the following:

Rem brass
215 M Federal Primer
90.0 grains H 1000
3.060 of Comparator
Group size .316 @ 100 yds.

I have not verified bullet drops or ran thru magneto speed yet to verify speeds.

I'm wanting to try the 200 and the 212 eld-x

Remington factory sender
Remington Brass full length sized.
berger 230 OTM
89.4 Grains of Retumbo
Fed 215M primer
COL is 3.80 (sucks to have to single feed)
Speed is 2945 average
right .5MOA.
Havn't been able to buy brass in over a year. Probabbly going to have to switch to the Nosler brass.

Please keep them coming. Would like to see how many different load combo that work.

Sounds like a good load but I want one that fits in the mag so I don't have to single feed them

You could have a wyatts box installed to mag feed.

Also if you switch to Nosler/ Norma brass, drop your load 2 grains to keep your same node.

Explain to me about reducing powder for norma/nosler brass

Norma and Nosler RUM brass are the same brass with different head stamps. In a nutshell, it has less case capacity than Remington brass. It also means you'll get to full performance with less powder. You should never assume that you can transfer your loads worked up in a certain brand of brass to another without re-working the load.

I think a lot of Norma RUM brass has met an early demise due to guys running their hot RP brass powder charges.

So pretty much the nosler can reach same results with less powder compared to remember brass?
