My 300 RUM has a 30" 1:12 Benchmark Barrel. I shoot the 208 gr AMAX too. I use Fed 215 Match primers, I have been using RP Brass. I trim the necks to length and then turn them to a common neck thickness.
I use 104.0 grs of US 869. The MV is 3250 fps.
The brass lasts for about 4 or 5 firings, before the necks split. I have not tried annealing my brass.
Recently I purchased 100 rds Nosler Brass. I am going to begin rebuilding the load. I have found the 208gr AMAX to be too explosive.
I shot a mule deer at 485 yds with it and I got an exit hole the size of a baseball. Lungs were spread across the hillside - but the buck did not go far. HA!
