300 RUM and Hammer Bullets

I tried loading 181 HH for a couple friends 300 RUMs and they did not shoot great in a 1:10. I didn't play with them a whole lot since they're supposed to be insensitive to seating depth, just ran a OCW test with retumbo and had them seated to fit in the mag box. So I would go with one of the lighter ones, maybe the 152.

I did find a load for one of those RUMS with a 185 Berger Classic Hunter and about 100 gr of N570, and it's around 3500 fps

Looking to try some hammers in my Browning A-Bolt 300 RUM with 1:10 twist barrel. I'm restricted on COAL at 3.60 due to magazine. Don't want to single feed. Currently shooting Retumbo, 200 grain accubonds and Nosler Brass at 3.60" with 1" groups at 100. I've shot a lot of animals with this load but looking to try ADG brass, a new projectile and N570. Picked up some 230 Berger Hybrids but are just too dang long. Any thoughts?

Load it with Berger 205/215 and your golden. My .300 WSM propels the 215 at 2850 FPS out of 24"; run the numbers and you'll see it's a 1KY set-up. With RUM's powder capacity, you get a lot more OOMPH/range at long-range hunting, as this website is created.

Retumbo was most likely the culprit

210 Berger's shot very well for me too. With both h1000 and retumbo. Hard to walk away, but I didn't like on game performance.

I have some 181s I'll sell if anyone needs them. I bought them before they announced that they might not stabilize in a 10 twist. I'll get some pics and post in the classifieds later
