300 PRC Hammer 199 Retumbo/N565

Bean, I got some brass prepped. If I pull the expander ball out and run it again will I be good or does it need to be shot then run without it?
Sizing with the expander ball then again without is the best way to do it. Particularly the 1st time. It will help uniform neck thickness. Also needs to be done if there is any dings in the neck.

Steve and Bean, one more question. I know the BC's scare some guys off but I don't care what the number is if she shoots and obviously still supersonic so easy peasy. My goal is a 800 yard rifle. If I figure this out I'll be figuring out the next step on the kestrel which should be easy between bc and fps. I was going to ask you Steve on your other thread but didn't want to interfere. How far are you guys pushing the 199 or similar hammers? Got pulled this weekend for work but will probably play hookie one day next week to get a range session in and see if I can find something with potential. I'm willing this to work.

The .299 g7 should be pretty close. The last three rifles we loaded with the 199g HH were 8" twist and all showed .323 g7. These were all rums.

I have a couple of boxes of 199g HHs awaiting the return of a 9" twist 30 Nosler. Are you still comfortable recommending 9.25" as the slowest twist for that bullet?

Yes. More twist is always a good thing. 9.25" will work fine. If you are not regularly hunting past 800y the 181g HH might be good. They will run about 150 fps faster.

Thank you guys. Think the results speak for themselves. Just gotta chrono and stretch her out.
