300 prc barrel twist

I got a great deal on a large shank proof 1:8 twist so that's what I built my PRC off of. Dave Tooley Chambered with a shorter freebore than SAMMI. I'm running the 230 Atips at 2975 in ADG brass with n565. I worked up a 215 load with ADG brass and h1000 and I'm getting 3k with 77.5 gns with no pressure signs and great accuracy. Dumped a bull at 350 with it. It's a 26' barrel.

I am getting very similar like almost the same results results out of custom 300 wm 1:9 but all the Same stuff you have listed above.

I'm having one built as we speak. I wanted to run 230 to 250 grain bullets, so I spoke with Bartlein barrels and decided to go with a gain twist 1:8.75 -8. I should be able to stabilize everything made right now.

That's great performance out of a 300 win mag. I never got close to 3k with 215's and h1000 in the ones I've played with. My accuracy load was 75.5 and 2850 in the two 26' 1:10 twist barrels I had

1:8 twist 26in and brake 2880 with factory precision hunter ammo 212gr eldx. Single digit ES & SD. The barrel is chambered for 214 HH. I hit a tree stump at 1040yds the other day. Now I'm thinking maybe I should just use factory ammo lol

Is it a left hand twist? Is you action left handed?

26" CA 8 twist, carbon fiber. In load development, but it likes the 212 gr eldx factory loads ok. Wanting to try 250 A-tips

A 1:11 in my experience will keep a 215 stable enough to throw 1/2 moa groups at 1400y. With that being said, I would definitely go with a 1:9 or at least at 10

Just wondering what people are running for a twist in the 300 PRC and length. Would like to run the 215 Berger's.
I think that 215 weight is pretty ideal for the 300 PRC. Lots of guys running 212-230s. Seems to be the ideal weight class for the PRC. The 250 ATips seem to be popular but I think more out of curiosity. Heavy 30 cal bullet with great numbers always appeal to LR shooters. Personally I think the 245/250s are more ideal for the 300NM or bigger case size wise. Of course I'm going to try the 250Atips in my 300PRC eventually but I'm building it for the 212-230s also.
