300 Norma Magnum Improved reamer and die release

The 338 is a very good option but the recoil is noticeably more. You have to build the rifle a little heavier to settle them down. In general the big 338s will stay in tune better, have better barrel life, and be a little more consistent in day to day dope than big 300s will. The reason we all just dont shoot 338s is recoil and rifle weight to make them shoot well.

How often are guys retuning the 300 norma improved? Seems like the 338 is easier

For you guys running 300 norma improved with a 1-8 twist have you seen any bullet failures with berger 220 or berger 245 with top speeds. The 220 at 3200? Ect.

I've been firedorming my brass n565 83 grains berger 220 29 inch barrel avg velocity 3043. The fireforming load shoot pretty dang good going to take it to local elr league match

Once formed going to start at 85 grains and work to 86 and then 87 see what happens.

Found these loads. I'm pretty low on the powder charges I get signs of pressure 84.6 grains. Speeds are ok in 29 inch barrel

Berger 220 with n565

That's a pretty awesome load right there! How much do you really gain by pushing it past that node into a faster one besides more barrel wear, more powder, and issues if the temps get hot... I'd call it a day and go shoot!
