h1000 is horrible .. never EVER use the stuff.. you should send all that you have to me and i will dispose of it in my garden ,,,,... 😁 😁 😁

customer just sent me info on his 300 NIMP .. he's up to 94.5 and in the mid 3400's with 180 HH and h1k

also on a side note In mine and several other peterson is the clear winner for brass use

Thank you for the great load info! I'm at 94gr. and 3330 with a 181. But also my on my first firing. The cases definitely filled chamber now that they've been shot again after the fire forming. Curious what I'll get after the second firing!

And I'm also using Peterson brass.

I see that the burn rate for varget is higher than N570. I run varget in my bench gun and I am well over 1200 rounds with it.

Burn Rate, Quantity of Powder and Peak Pressure are also contributing factors.

Comparing H1000 to N570 is relevant because the burn rates are similar.

In the case of Varget, a more apt comparison would be N140...
 
BTW Natchez has Reloder 33 at boutique prices and Reloder 16 also

 
Ran out for cold/dirty bore verification this morning. All three shots fired before the sun was up.

858 yards. 4.3 Mils @ sea level.

3321, 3320, 3307 were the velocities of each shot. I'm not IN LOVE with this lol. The first shot was a dead jackrabbit basically, but not the other two that came up 1 MOA low of the cold bore. More testing must ensue 👊🏼👊🏼. But an update none the less.

Also think spin drift is coming into play, because it was deadass calm this morning. Going to shift my zero .1 to the left to compensate for it because I really hate holding for it lol.

I'd repeat that cold/dirty test a few more times to gather a larger sample size. A 9'' group at 850 yards isn't absolutely terrible, but we're always demanding better of ourselves and our equipment.

I agree man. That first shot, also had two dry patches ran before it, just to get the loose carbon out of the barrel. That's normally what I do for a "dirty bore" first shot, and never had an impact difference. Next time, there will be no dry patches, now that there appears to be an impact difference and I need to make sure all shots are 100% equal.
 
Just verified at both 1030 and 1180 yards, that my current load does in fact have .3 mil of vertical inconsistency, even with consistent velocities. It wasn't just a coincidence on the 850 yard group from this morning.

But I do have 50 pieces of now twice fired brass to do real load development with. Stay tuned 🤷🏽‍♂️ Lol.
