300 Norma Mag Imp seating issue

Backed the die out to only 3 threads.
Still seats them too deep, but it's a lot closer.

Pretty sure if i zip off part of that seater stem, I'll be good to go.

Measure form that last clip slot and see if its close to my stem length if so you will be in the chips!!!

They do for the A-tips...highly recommended by Hornady to avoid what's happening.

Due to the numerous types of bullet profiles and bullet manufacturers, you may experience issues with bullet seating depth or deformation of the bullet during seating. We cannot make seat plugs that are a perfect match to every bullet currently on the market and supply them with the dies however, we can create a custom seat plug for you that will eliminate the issues.
To create a custom plug, we'll need 3 sample bullets with the below information:

Caliber:

Profile/type:

Grain Weight:

Thread pitch/Die Set : ¼-28 or ½-20 OR provide die set #

Matchmaster seat plugs in 7mm or .30 caliber, please specify the overall length of your seat plug.

The process will take 2-6 weeks after we have called and confirmed your billing and shipping information along with the bullets in the mail.

Easy fix is to bed the stem to the bullet and be done. easy peasy

Sooooo sorry.... Hornaday makes the Stem specifically for the A-tips for HORNADY DIES! I wasn't thinking RCBS at the time. My bad!

For what it's worth, my 300 PRC seater die has the shorter stem with only 3 clip positions. Bust the dremel out and you'd be good to go in a few minutes.

Try calling them and sending another message. Rcbs of years past had always been very good. They got me a different stem for my 270. Free and fast shipping.

that's not even an issue at the moment, haven't seen any adverse effects from the stem...just that the darn thing is too long.

can you measure the OD on your Hornady stem. Maybe the are interchangeable
