I agree. The VESPER is very robust and well built and is also a very smooth action. The lugs on the bolt are huge in comparison to other 338 bolt face actions I have seen.

Where did you end up with your load or are you still in the process of getting that dialed in? I have a similar build in the works, just waiting for the barrel from Carbon Six to show up. We're hoping to push 215 Berger's 2900 without having to use N570.

I haven't messed with any more loads yet, just the 225s a tad under 2800 with H1000.
I do have some 215s so I'll give them a try with H1000 and Retumbo, really those are the only two powders I care to use with this rifle.
I'll post results when I get a chance

The stock wasn't even close to the advertised 25-26oz.. mine came in at 33oz, I'm not chasing ultralight stats so I could care less but it's kinda lame that they're off by almost half a pound.
The barrel weight is fantastic, again I don't feel the need to ever go back to carbon fiber wrapped.

What is the finished muzzle diameter on that one? Assuming you went with 5/8x24 threads too?

That's interesting about the weight because I was comtemplating picking up a pro hunter because I like Manners so much and shaving some weight from an EH1 or LRH. I've seen some people going over the 25-26 ounces, but they had the mini chassis which adds 5-6 ounces and it looks like you do not.
