with the 245 grain berger bullets what would you load for powder and what velocity out of a 30 inch barrel
Is that what Berger recommends? Because in general, in a 338 caliber, 1:10 should be good to 300 grnsThe 245gr Berger needs a minimum 1:9 twist. If you have a factory Wby barrel it's a 1:10.

My mistake. I was looking at 338-378..From the Berger site under specifications for the .30 cal 245 EOL bullet states minimum twist 1:9 or faster.
Thank you, I was about to make an appointment for an eye exam. At $60 per 100, would be a bit pricey for most to load some to test.My mistake. I was looking at 338-378..
