30-06/6.5 Creed reloaders - try RL16

been using the rl 16 with berger 140g elite hunters with lapua brass with 450 primers even the br4 with single digit es and very accurate. havent touched the h4350 for the 6.5 just use for the 243

Check out this test for the temp stability between Re16 and H4350. I have used almost 8lbs of it in my 6.5 23.5" Bartlein Tikka. 2835 fps, SD of 4 with the 140 ELDM and the 143 ELDX, 41.4gr, in Peterson srp brass and CCI450s. The only problem I have had is a carbon ring after 250-300 rounds or so. Need to use a good carbon remover and scrub the throat good. I worked my load up in 23 degree weather for hunting with the 143 ELDX. I used the same load with the 140 in 104 degree weather in a PRS match with no pressure signs.

10:10 would recommend this powder for any of my fellow 6.5 Creedmoor shooters.

I am getting my 143gr ELD-Xs up to 2791fps with single digit SD's and 0.3-0.5 MOA accuracy out of my 22" Bergara HMR. Its a warm load, but once I had the loose firing pin bushed to combat some pierced primers (known issue running small rifle primers in this rifle), there are no pressure signs to speak of. It is pretty heavily compressed though, so anyone sticking to SAAMI lengths be advised, if you run a Redding Micrometer die (or any other die that advises against compressed loads), this wont be for you.

I also seen a video on u tube a few months ago that showed similar results as that article which is the reason why I tried RL 16.
Very happy I did.
Getting 2800 fps pushing 143 grain ELDx out of my Mtn. Accent's 22" tube, Lapua sp brass and BR4 primer sub moa.

Anyone have load data for 6.5 Creedmoor using RL16 and 135 Grain Classic Berger?
Thanks

My load data for the 6.5 Creedmoor.

135 Berger Classic Hunter
Peterson SRP Brass
41.8 gr RL16
Federal 205M primers
I am shooting this out of a 26" barrel with an area 419 break, 2861 average velocity.

See the attached pic for more data.

RL-16 was next on my list to play with in my 6.5 Creed. I have tried 5 different powders so far and all have shot great with RL-26 being the fastest and 2nd most accurate load I found. Guess I better order 8 pounds of RL-16 to play with next

What where the other 4 you tried in 6.5? Any good results? I know you said RL-26 was fastest and 2nd in accuracy, if you could elaborate on that and the others that would be great, thx Tidus

The only powders I've run in my 30/06 is the H 4350 & 4831 both work awesome... I run IMR 4350 """If""" I get into a pinch... Not going to happen now that I stock pile supplies. LOL.

Its kinda of a hit and miss looking for bulk RL powders up here in the North,,, if it doesn't come in a box of 24 lbs,,, then I'm not wasting my funds...

Going bulk is the best bang for my buck...

I get great results from RL26 for 140 Grain Amax & Nos. Partition, no doubt will with the 147's but I want to work up a 120TTSX hunting load for my Wife's 6.5CM & a 123AMax target load, I would think RL16 should be optimal for 120-135Grain bullets.
