28n or 300rum

28 noz is my vote. Those 195 grainers will be thors hammer. Reason is I just never got excited for a 30 cal. If I ever need anything more than my preferred. 284 I will go 338 of some flavor. Best of luck

I would also say BOTH, seeing as I have both. I'm still working on a stable load for 28N w/195EOL so, the 300RUM goes hunting in the elk woods, with the 208ELDM.

My two best shooting rifles are a 300rum with 225s and a 28nosler with 195s. I would take the 300rum for elk every time

So far it seems like 77gr of h1000 behind the 195s is what my rifle likes. I haven't run them out past 300 yet but planning on it. Speed is around 2850 but I am running a short barrel

My barrel doesn't like work well with H1000 (fast) powder. Retumbo for 175-180 (still a bit too fast) and waiting on Ramshot LRT to be delivered, which should keep me in the high node, without the pressure spikes?

If they shoot as good as they look your all set with either ! Not ever having a 28 Nosler and well you have seen a few of the Rums I have I'm still picking the 300 Rum !

One of my 300 rums, this one with retumbo and 225 eldx is death to any elk. It's a bit heavy but well worth packing it!
