280 AI replacement for 270 Win.

Can anybody give me a starting point for H-1000 160 accubond/162 amax in a 280ackley ?

I was going to try some of the Amaxes in my 280AI but was going to try and get some VV powders. 550 or 560. I have better luck as far as es/sd and stability with them.

I have been interested in the VV 5 series powders just never pulled the trigger a bought some .

I have re 17 / h 1000 / imr 7828ssc and h 4831sc to work with on the 280AI.

H-1000 starting point anybody?

Viht N165 works pretty good for me with the 162 AMAX and 168 VLD. I'm getting 2970 fps with no pressure signs at all. I tried H1000 through chrony and it was too slow for me. H4831sc is better but still not as good as N165.

If you want speed I recommend trying some MAGPRO. I got 3075fps with NO pressure signs and good accuracy but it is SO dirty!!!

Hodgdon.com has a lot of reloading data for the 280AI.
