28 Nosler, Terrible barrel burner??

I tell all my customers to expect 800-1000 rounds. To prolong the life keep the barrel cool and clean it well. Use bronze brushes every cleaning and iosso or jb as needed to keep the hard carbon down. It is definitely a long range hunting round and thats a life time of shooting for most.

I just finished my 28 Nosler and here are the initial results.

Berger Hybrid 180gr
coal: 3.610"
RL-33 89gr

Hornady ELD-X 175gr
coal: 3.610"
RL-33 89gr

WHBY has a long throat to gain velocity giving the bullet some free jump to hit the lands this also happens as the throat wears from erosion, then you start chasing the lands. H 1000 is a cooler burning powder this helps some with throat erosion, but if you shoot rapid fire you can cook a barrel in a short time 300 shots and it's done

I'm keeping this one going.

My barrel will be here soon. I don't have any 180s yet but I have about a thousand 168vld , hoping Retumbo or RL25 will work.

My RL33 is dedicated to my 26 Nosler.
Anyone running Retumbo or RL26 with 168 vld ?

So far exactly 383 rounds.
(200 yards)

The borescope shows some minor firecracking but my throat hasn't moved more than .010" since the first round.
I'm guessing my current load will carry me to greater than 1000 rounds before I'm over one MOA average.
