>270 Win. load development thoughts....

I've been having good luck with H4831. Before that H4350.
The H4350 had my Weatherby Vanguard at 3/4 moa, the H4831 is usually around .66 or so, depending on me.

54.8gr H4831, Nosler 150ABLR, CCI-200
RP 3x fired brass

I do need to get this flier dealt with though. That has been consistent for me with the H4831... not sure if I'm having a neck tension issue, or what's going on there.

Rl16 on anything based on a 30-06 case. My 270 shoots 140 accubonds over rl16 a shade over 3000 FPS and it gets .75-1moa out to 350 yards. That's as far as I shoot the feather weight

After a long hiatus from this caliber, I just picked up one. Nineties vintage ADL synthetic, that I'm putting into a beautiful classic stock. Old school, but pretty.
I've got my eyes set on either RL16, or RL17. Initially, I'm gonna do a little hot rodding, with some varmint loads, but will probably settle on 130 ab.

That's the load I'm gonna go with. RL16 is good powder, not temp sensitive, full volume loads too. Very close to H4350 in some ways, except much easier to find it seems.
It fills the case right up there. I just seated my bullets as long as tikka mag length would allow and it was about right. And still shot 3/4 moa easily. It was doing 1/2 moa at 100 yds after I messed with it a little, but I haven't brought it out to 300 to verify that it holds it there. Thats about as good as that rifle has to do since 150 yds is a long shot for where I deer hunt in MN.

Before Reloader 26 came along I had a great load with 150 Berger VLD's and IMR 4831. Shot #1 on the left was the first at 200 yds with a new Viper long range scope. The next 3 were after a little windage adjustment.
