I'm getting fantastic results from RL16 and Trophy Bonded Tips.
My 270 is a 1958 Remington 721 with the factory barrel. It shoots .5 MOA with IMR 4350 and Hornady 150's. I have been waiting for it to start shooting bad groups, so I can replace the barrel. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.My .270 is a 1951 Remington 721, with the factory barrel, so it's not a Ferrari. It shoots sub .500 at 100 yards with H4831, Hornady brass, and Nosler 140 BT.
Not the best photo, but my dad's 1951 Remington 721, in .270. Shoots 140 gn Nosler BTs sub .500 MOA with H4831. Love this rifle, and I can't wait for one of my dad's great-grandchildren to harvest with it.My 270 is a 1958 Remington 721 with the factory barrel. It shoots .5 MOA with IMR 4350 and Hornady 150's. I'd like to know how that 7977 works out.I have loaded 150 gr. Hornady interlocks with RL-19 chronograph 2850, very accurate, shoot an elk with this load. The shot was hard quartering away 100 yards, bullet entered far back ribs exited out the throat. Elk spun in a circle and hit the ground. I loaded the same bullet over IMR 4350 chronograph 2936, this load is very accurate too and getting higher FPS than expected. Both these loads are 1/4" or less at 100 yards in my rifle. I have some IMR 7977 to try as some as I get the chance.
It may be after spring bear season before I get a chance to try it. I'll ether post it on here or make a new post on how it works out. I want to try it in the 243, 270 WSM and 300 Win. Mag. too.I'd like to know how that 7977 works out.
