Came across a .264 24" blank with 9.5 twist. Looking to push 100Gr copper bullets and would like to know if anyone has Quickload that would give me an idea of speed and max load I may obtain.
Absolutely!!I've got some 100 grain Barnes TTSX data out of a 260 AI. It's only an 18" barrel though. Happy to dig it up and share if interested.
Already got my barrel and going forward. Ran the numbers on certain bullets and theoretically they will work. On paper the lite bullets 97 to 101 that I selected should do well. Stay tuned.I would hate to see you put yourself in a box with the 9.5 twist. I had a 9 twist and sold it because I wanted to shoot different bullets and couldn't. I was key holing solids, you can't over stabilize hammers so I would go with a 1-8 just to have the security of shooting different bullets down the road.
Both my .260AIs are running 1:7.5" twists with fantastic results.I would hate to see you put yourself in a box with the 9.5 twist. Have you looked at some of the less expensive customs? By the time you get done with the work on a Rem action, youbare almost at the same price of a budget custom action.Gonna pull trigger today for a Rem SA to get started.
I found a new factory Stainless Remington Short.Action for under 650. Blank barrel under 150.Have you looked at some of the less expensive customs? By the time you get done with the work on a Rem action, youbare almost at the same price of a budget custom action.
