Or a light weight bullet. Seems like the Creedmoor or Grendel would be the easy button here.Big 260AI fan here but surely wouldn't handicap it with a slow twist barrel.

I agree. My 260AI runs the 142 ABLR @ 3044 with a 24" barrel.This is at6500' and 80°F. Pronghorn country. The 100HHT @ 3400fps is barely a 900 yard round in my opinion.
Take 400fps off, and more like a 650yd round.

ReiteratedSomething to do. Plus if I want to go further I have my 6.5x284 or 6.5Needmore. Also have the 6Needmoor, .308, 243, 30.06(7), 6.5 grendel, 6ARC, 25.06, and 25.45 to name a few.
While a CM would be easier, You would be losing a lot of speed with these choices though.Or a light weight bullet. Seems like the Creedmoor or Grendel would be the easy button here.
I get it. I just don't understand the desire to go through all the fireforming and what not with a 260AI to use a slow twist barrel and light bullets. While a CM would be easier, You would be losing a lot of speed with these choices though.
A slow twist is not my choice, it is still acceptable for a .260AI. Look at all the old .264WM w. 1:9.5" twists back in the day. They can't take advantage of today's heavy for caliber high BC bullets, they make a good super fast lightweight bullet medium range rifle. If shots are going to be 500 or less, pushing a lightweight fast makes sense. It is out west where shots can be 500-700+ where the high BC heavies really shine.
Just another 6.5 in a different twist. Already got 6.5CM and 6.5x284. Just another deer killing machine. Stay tuned, GS got it and got my 6CM and 6GT back today.I get it. I just don't understand the desire to go through all the fireforming and what not with a 260AI to use a slow twist barrel and light bullets.
What kind of groups are you getting at 100, 300, 600 with the 130 OTM and 140 HYB?Standard FB for the .260AI is .050".
I am a huge fan of the .260AI. I have two currently. A 24" and a 20".
I am running Alpha .260Rem brass.
SRP in the 24" w. 130 OTM & 46.2gr H4350 @ 3086fps
LRP in the 20" w. 140 Hyb & 45.8gr H4350 @ 2914fps
Even though I am shooting significantly heavier bullets, H4350 should work fantastic with a 100gr mono.
Once you get brass FFed, I would start at 44.5gr and go up to about 47.5ish, stopping when you hit pressure.
Was shooting the 20" today, banging steel from 751 to 1389 yds.
