.260 vs 6.5 Creedmore

Hey I have an idea for the next topic,
"Who has a better marketing department, Hornady or Remington?"
There, that's a question with an answer.
the most popular centerfire cartridge sold in the USA year after year is the 223 Remington!

As I recall, A-Square had the 6.5/308 and somehow Big Green rammed their named 260 thru the SAAMI, now about the A-Square vs. CM, it's been beat to death. Owned several of each, factory and custom. Bottom line, all get the job done. Want MORE performance than a CM, well most handload the A-Square....so if you want more than a MOOR, go SWEDE, use a Tikka action or rifle, or just go LA. If you need more than a CM, why not just go 270, easy peasy.........but better yet a 280 has better twist.......but why mess with that when you can just grab a 7RM, which is even MORE than any CM...280, or 270. Ok...I am done. CM or Swede are hard to beat. For the record, at this time - a 47 in a 20" and a CM in 24 T3X.......learn your clicks and they will do fine. On the 260, BRASS choice is a BIG factor in accuracy, Rem is CRAP. Use FC 308 or 7/08 and get tight groups, Lapua is top grade, and Nosler...at least the early production will perform. H4350, kiss lands.........enjoy.

SAAMI spec for the 260 Remington is a 9 twist.
Manufacturers have been producing 8 twist 260s for a few years now. BUT the spec. is a 9 twist and that is the twist Remington has used up until the last couple years.

I bought my Savage in 2012 and it came with a 1-8 twist. I don't shoot Remingtons so have no idea what they do.

I'm fine with my two 6.5 Grendels and my Tikka 260. No one has yet to bad mouth my Sako 264WM which was short throated by Winchester back in the day with their SAAMI specs. Still shoots great, just can't jam those "long range" pills in there. In '65 no one thought about shooting 1000 yards.......LOL.

The creedmoor is a real good long range elephant round. The 260 is lowly squirrel gun!!
Surprised ya'll didn't know that, it's a fact too....my brother in law done told me so and he killt himsel two grizzly bears a mile away with one shot and his cousin seen im do it and he ain't no liar. I'm fixen me to kill a bufler with my creed, ya'll probably couldn't hit rabbit with that old 260... it ain't inherent so it don't work too good. Get a creed, I don't even have to aim mine, that's how inherent they are!

my smith wanted me to build a 260 for my next bolt gun project. the cabelas near me carries one brand and it's $35+ a box. academy has several offerings of 6.5CM for $15-$20 and there's several of their stores in my state. we only have 2 cabelas. with 2.5 kids i dont have time to reload but i can run into a store and buy a box of ammo real quick. with the military adopting the 6.5, i think you'll see more ammo out there soon. at least i hope so.

It is pretty cool how the cheap hornady 140 box ammo shoots so well. I bought a couple boxes when I built a CM to test and I was pleasantly surprised. Shots 21-40 from new barrel at 200yds. Nothing amazing, but I was happy for off the shelf.

Best supporting argument yet and only eleven pages in.
