257 Weatherby Magnum..advice please

Do you have to neck turn this caliber ?

No. I've had no problems and have loaded some of the brass up to 8 times.

Folks,

I'm thinking of building a rifle in 257 Weatherby Magnum for long range varmint and small deer.
Essentially i've come into possession of a 25cal (257) match grade barrel blank with 1 in 10 twist and thought it would be fun to match it to a proven 30-06 type action (sako, tikka, maybe mauser clone) resulting in a calibre new to me and unusual in the UK.

I already own a tikka M65 in 25-06 which i love.

Does anyone own a 257 Weatherby Magnum or can offer some advice?

Build a 25-06 Ackley Improved & you will be shooting right with a Bee with less recoil. Go with at least a 26" barrel.

cant go with the 25-06 i already have a savage model 12 short action receiver
