25 Creedmoor question

I am in the process of building a 25 Creedmoor and want to know which Reamer to use. It looks like the primary choices are the original "Blackjack Reamer" and the "Alpha Reamer" which has .150 Freebore. This is being built on a short action and will be using a BDL style bottom metal. Advice please. Looks like Alpha and Peterson are the main players in headstamped brass?

I used the 25CM BJ2 reamer for both of my 25CMs. I don't remember the FB on it, but I think it is slightly shorter than the original. It won't matter for mag box or mag with a 2.950" ID. The 131, 133, 135 will all fit with room to spare touching the lands.

My first one is running Lapua 6CM SRP necked up to .257.

Good stuff Lance. I need to do some research as I think the Alpha reamer is more recent with a little more Freebore but I could be wrong. Spec sheet below. Thanks

I've got one spun up with a .150" freebore reamer. It works but the 134's are seated deeper than I'd like, I ordered a .183" from JGS that should be delivered next week. Looks like that freebore will work great for the 131's,133's, 134's, and 135's.

Sweet looking rig. I have a 25creed and 25PRC with unknown reamer, I'll have to ask my GSmith.My good friend has both cartridges and uses the BJ reamer for both. Both his guns shoot same bullet same powder charge substantially faster than mine. Mine pressures out much sooner unfortunately. I have 57.5g N565 getting the 134 to 3020-3040. Cci200. Also , H1000 at 57 had pressure with Magnum primer @ 3070

The first 300rds down the barrel were with Berger 135 58g H1000 virgin Hornady brass. Zero signs of pressure.

Yes it's a good accurate speed indeed but was hoping for more than a long barrel creed speed gun.

3150plus. He Hit 3200 but wasn't great accuracy . His barrel is only 1 inch longer
